RHY Nice Weather Outlook Day 2

The Plains Hit Peak Comfort Today

For Wednesday, May 13, the absolute best weather in the country is parked over the Central Plains and Upper Midwest. Kansas City, Sioux Falls, Topeka, and Fargo are all sitting pretty in our Perfect category.

We are talking about afternoon highs right around 78 degrees, but the real star of the show is the humidity, or rather, the lack of it. Dewpoints are dropping into the 40s. That gives the air a crisp, refreshing feel that is hard to come by as we get closer to summer. Just keep in mind that the UV index is running high around 8.0, so you will want some sunscreen if you are spending the afternoon on a patio.

While the middle of the country is quiet, we do have to mention that folks out west in Utah and Montana are dealing with some intense winds and critical fire danger today, so stay weather aware if you are traveling that direction.

The Perfect Zone Shifts East for Thursday

RHY Nice Weather Outlook Day 3

By Thursday, the core of that comfortable high pressure slides east, setting up a phenomenal day for the Ohio Valley and the Southeast. Nashville, Atlanta, Birmingham, and Evansville all jump up to a Perfect 82.0 score.

If you are heading to Truist Park for the Cubs and Braves series, the weather is going to be spectacular. Thursday will bring highs near 70 degrees, dewpoints in the upper 40s, and completely dry skies. It is quite literally perfect baseball weather.

Looking Ahead: Event Weather for the Weekend

As we peek into the extended forecast for the weekend, the weather maps are looking highly cooperative for a couple of major outdoor events.

Out in the desert, EDC Las Vegas kicks off on Friday. Las Vegas is holding steady in our Beautiful category from Friday right through the weekend. Expect classic dry heat, with nice weather scores climbing from a 66.0 on Friday up to a 73.6 by Sunday.

Over on the East Coast, horse racing fans heading to the Preakness Stakes in Maryland on Saturday are in luck. The Mid-Atlantic, including the Washington D.C. and Baltimore area, is scoring in the Beautiful tier for both Friday and Saturday. You can expect highs in the upper 70s and clearing skies, making it an excellent weekend to be out at the track.

Get outside and enjoy it if you can, y'all!
