RHY Nice Weather Outlook Day 1

Oregon's Perfect Wednesday and a Crisp Weekend Ahead for the Great Lakes

Hey y'all. While a big chunk of the southern Plains and Texas is dealing with heavy rain and severe storms today, the western half of the country is enjoying some truly spectacular spring weather. If you are looking for an excuse to take your lunch break outside or hit a trailhead after work, the West Coast is putting on a clinic.

Let's look at where the weather is actually cooperating and how you can take advantage of it.

The Pacific Northwest is Flawless Today

Oregon is completely dominating our Nice Weather charts for Wednesday. Salem, Eugene, Medford, and Portland all landed in our rare Perfect category with scores pushing 92 out of 100.

RHY Nice Weather Outlook Day 1

We are talking about afternoon highs in the upper 60s, completely dry air with dewpoints in the 40s, and virtually zero chance of rain. In Portland, expect a high near 69 degrees with a gentle 10 mph breeze. The only tiny catch keeping things from being absolutely pristine is the UV index. It is hovering around 7.8, so you will definitely want some sunscreen if you are spending the afternoon outside.

California's Wine Country Streak

Moving down the coast, Northern California is setting up for an incredible run. If you look at our weekly top cities, places like Novato, Sonoma, and Napa are stringing together six or seven Beautiful days in a row.

This is brilliant timing for anyone heading into town for the BottleRock festival starting Friday. Expect afternoon highs in the 70s and early 80s with plenty of sunshine and very low humidity. You can track this entire regional streak and see how your area stacks up on our Nice Weather outlook page.

A Crisp Friday for the Great Lakes

Now, what about the eastern half of the country? A strong cold front is pushing through the Midwest and Northeast, bringing some messy weather and sharply cooler temperatures today. But behind that front, a crisp, dry airmass is going to settle right over the Great Lakes and Ohio Valley by Friday.

RHY Nice Weather Outlook Day 3

Our Day 3 outlook highlights a Perfect zone stretching across Michigan and the northern Great Lakes. High pressure will actively suppress rainfall, bringing a zero percent chance of precipitation. We are forecasting high temperatures around 62 degrees and dewpoints dropping into the refreshing mid-40s.

If you are heading to Detroit for the Movement Music Festival this weekend or just opening up a cabin for the holiday, the weather is going to be incredibly comfortable. Just pack a jacket for the evenings, because those clear skies and light winds will let temperatures drop quickly after sunset.
