The West Coast Wins the Weekend: Perfect Weather in Oregon
From a flawless Thursday in Oregon to a beautiful festival weekend in California, here is exactly where the weather is cooperating for your outdoor plans.

The West Coast Wins the Weekend: Perfect Patio Weather from Oregon to Arizona
Hey y'all. While a big chunk of the country is tracking severe storms and dealing with flight delays today, the western half of the United States is quietly serving up some of the best outdoor weather we have seen all spring.
If you are looking for an excuse to take your lunch break outside or hit a trailhead this weekend, the West Coast is putting on a clinic.
A Flawless Thursday in the Pacific Northwest
Right now, the Pacific Northwest is absolutely dominating the nice weather charts. Our data shows a massive "Perfect" zone parked over Oregon and Washington for Thursday. Salem, Hillsboro, and Olympia are scoring an incredible 92 out of 100 on our comfort scale.

We are talking about afternoon highs in the low to mid 70s, completely dry air with dewpoints near 51 degrees, and virtually zero cloud cover. It is the exact right day to fire up the grill. Just keep in mind that the UV index is hovering around 8, so you will definitely need sunscreen if you are spending extended time outside.
California Shines for Festival Season
As we head into Friday, that comfort shifts slightly south into California. The Golden State is taking over our "Beautiful" category. Cities like Sacramento, Santa Rosa, and San Jose are locked in with scores of 82.
If you are traveling to wine country for the BottleRock festival in Napa this weekend, you could not ask for a better setup. Expect abundant sunshine, refreshing afternoon sea breezes, and low humidity that will keep the evenings feeling crisp and comfortable.
Saturday Belongs to the Southwest (and Maine)
By Saturday, the "Perfect" crown moves down to the Desert Southwest. Tucson and Sierra Vista, Arizona, are going to be spectacular. Highs will warm into the upper 80s, but with morning lows in the upper 40s and bone dry air, it will feel incredibly comfortable for any early outdoor plans.

In a funny twist, a tiny pocket of far northern Maine also hits "Perfect" on Saturday. Madawaska will see crisp highs near 60 degrees with zero chance of rain, proving you do not have to be in the desert to find a pristine afternoon.
Why is the East Missing Out?
If you are wondering why the eastern half of the country is missing from these top spots, a highly amplified weather pattern is to blame. The Weather Prediction Center notes that a trough over the Great Lakes and Gulf moisture returning to the Plains will keep things unsettled. If you are in Chicago or Dallas, you are capped in our "Fair" category this weekend due to gusty winds, heavy cloud cover, and rain chances.
