Perfect Weekend Weather: East Coast Baseball to West Coast Sunshine
Discover the best weather in the country this weekend. From flawless Friday nights in the Mid-Atlantic to perfect Sunday skies in the Pacific Northwest.

A Flawless Friday Night for Baseball and a Weekend Shift to the West Coast
Y'all, the weather map is a story of sharp contrasts right now. While we are tracking some intense storms in West Texas and heavy rain down in the Southeast, a massive dome of high pressure is delivering an absolute gift to a huge chunk of the country.
If you are looking for the best places to be outside, we have a fantastic Friday lined up for the East Coast, followed by a weekend where the Pacific Northwest and California completely steal the show.

Friday Night Under the Lights
If you have tickets to a baseball game tonight in Washington D.C., Baltimore, Pittsburgh, or Cleveland, you are in for a treat. The Mid-Atlantic and Ohio Valley are sitting firmly in our "Perfect" category today. We are talking about high temperatures in the mid-70s and crisp dewpoints in the low 50s.
The air is exceptionally dry for late May. Precipitation chances are basically zero, making it an ideal evening for the ballpark or a patio dinner. Just a quick heads up for folks heading to the Great Lakes beaches: the inland air is warm, but the water is still dangerously cold, and there is a high risk for rip currents on Lake Michigan today.
Saturday's Festival Forecast
As we roll into the weekend, that eastern high pressure shifts a bit. If you are heading out to the Roots Picnic in Philadelphia on Saturday, the weather is going to cooperate nicely. You can expect a high around 73 degrees and zero rain, though you might notice a bit of a breeze with gusts approaching 20 mph.
But the real star of Saturday is the West Coast. The Central Valley of California is lighting up our Nice Weather outlook page with top scores. Sacramento, Fresno, and Stockton are all looking at high temperatures in the mid-70s with barely a cloud in the sky.
The only thing keeping these areas from reaching our elusive "Pristine" tier is the UV index. With UV levels sitting around 8, the sun is going to be intense, so you will definitely need to pack the sunscreen.

Sunday Belongs to the Pacific Northwest
By Sunday, the most comfortable air in the country slides up into Oregon and Washington. Seattle and Portland are both scoring a 92 out of 100, landing them in the Perfect category.
Expect brilliant blue skies, high temperatures right around 70 degrees, and very light winds. It is the kind of day that makes you want to hit the trail or check out a local farmers market. Altoona, Pennsylvania, is also holding onto a Perfect score for Sunday, keeping the Mid-Atlantic in the mix for one more day.
Before we wrap up, I have to give a quick shoutout to Southern California. Places like Lancaster, Palmdale, and Azusa are currently riding a 19-day streak of nice weather. If you live out there, you are definitely getting your money's worth out of the patio furniture this month.
