RHY Nice Weather Outlook Day 1

A Flawless Saturday in the Pacific Northwest and Upstate New York

It has been a heavy, exhausting week of severe weather for a large chunk of the country. With intense storms and flooding still impacting the Central Plains, finding a quiet, comfortable weekend spot is a priority for a lot of us.

Fortunately, the maps are showing some absolutely spectacular weather on the edges of the country today. If you are in the Pacific Northwest or the Northeast, you are in for a treat.

RHY Nice Weather Outlook Day 1

The Perfect Saturday Pockets

For Saturday, the data is handing out rare Perfect ratings to two main regions.

Out west, the Inland Northwest is looking incredible. Cities like Spokane, the Tri-Cities, and Pullman in Washington, along with Coeur d'Alene in Idaho, are scoring a 92 out of 100. You can expect highs right around 74 degrees, bone-dry dewpoints in the mid-40s, and essentially zero chance of rain. It is a flawless day for a trailhead or a patio breakfast. The only minor caveat is a high UV index holding around 7.6, so you will definitely need sunscreen if you are spending the afternoon outside.

On the other side of the country, Upstate New York is sharing that top-tier Perfect status. Syracuse, Binghamton, and Utica are seeing identical mid-70s warmth and low humidity. That comfortable, dry airmass extends down the coast, too. Manhattan and Philadelphia are landing in the Beautiful category. If you are heading to Queens tonight to watch the Braves take on the Mets, you could not ask for better baseball weather.

Down south, festival-goers are getting a lucky break. Bonnaroo is in full swing in Manchester, Tennessee, and the surrounding region is scoring in the Beautiful tier today with refreshing breezes and low cloud cover.

Sunday Shifts to the High Plains

By Sunday, the core of that top-tier weather shifts just a bit.

RHY Nice Weather Outlook Day 2

Spokane holds onto its Perfect rating for a second day, but the Northern High Plains join the club. Places like Chamberlain and Aberdeen in South Dakota will see brilliant sunshine, minimal cloud cover, and highs in the low to mid-70s.

Meanwhile, the California coast remains a reliable anchor for pleasant conditions. Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Jose are all locking in Nice to Beautiful ratings for Sunday. In fact, Los Angeles and several other California cities are riding a solid five-day streak of highly rated weather.

The Broader Picture

While the coasts and northern tier enjoy the comfortable air, we have to acknowledge the active weather in the middle. A severe weather setup is bringing heavy rain, damaging wind threats, and flash flooding to the Central Plains and Missouri Valley this weekend. If you are in places like Kansas City or the Missouri Ozarks, outdoor plans will likely need a rain check.
