Perfect Midwest Weather Monday & New England Forecast
After a week of severe storms, the Midwest gets a refreshing break on Monday with perfect outdoor weather. Plus, a beautiful Tuesday for New England.

The Midwest Finally Gets a Breather, Plus a Flawless Tuesday for New England
It has been a genuinely exhausting week of weather across the central United States. If you live anywhere from the Plains to the Ohio Valley, you have probably been dodging relentless severe storms, dealing with flash floods, or listening to the wind howl. We saw measured wind gusts over 90 mph in multiple states yesterday.
The good news? A massive sigh of relief is on the way.
While today (Sunday) still features a severe weather threat for the East Coast and parts of the Plains, a refreshing post-frontal airmass is sweeping into the middle of the country. By Monday, we are looking at some of the most comfortable June weather you could ask for.

Monday: The Midwest Opens Its Windows
Monday is the standout day of the week for the Central Plains and Midwest. The data is handing out rare "Perfect" ratings to cities like St. Louis, Missouri; Peoria, Illinois; and Clarksville, Tennessee.
What makes it perfect? The humidity is taking a vacation. Dewpoints are going to plummet into the highly comfortable 50s, which is fantastic for mid-June. High temperatures will generally hover in the mid to upper 70s. If you have been running the air conditioner non-stop, Monday is the day to open the windows, take a long walk, or grab a patio table for lunch.
Just remember that even with the cooler, crisper air, the sun angle is incredibly high right now. The UV index will still be pushing an 8 across the Midwest, so you will absolutely need sunscreen if you are spending the afternoon outside.
Sunday: The Northern Rockies Score High
If you are looking for the best weather today, you will need to head west.

The Northern Rockies and Intermountain West are sitting in a "Beautiful" to "Perfect" zone. Spokane, Washington, and Great Falls, Montana, are topping the charts today with highs in the low to mid-70s, completely dry air, and plenty of sunshine.
Meanwhile, if you have outdoor plans on the East Coast today, maybe heading to the Mariners at Nationals game in DC or the Braves at Mets game in Queens, keep a close eye on the radar. There is a solid threat for damaging wind gusts in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast this afternoon.
Tuesday: New England and the Pacific Northwest
By Tuesday, that dry, comfortable airmass reaches the East Coast, setting up a "Beautiful" day for New England. Boston, Massachusetts, and Providence, Rhode Island, will see highs right around 74 degrees with crisp dewpoints in the low 50s.
At the exact same time, the Pacific Northwest gets a brilliant Tuesday of its own. Portland and Salem in Oregon are looking at perfectly clear skies and highly comfortable temperatures, making it a great day for hiking or just enjoying the outdoors before the pattern shifts later in the week.
Take advantage of these quiet weather windows when you can, y'all.
