A Crisp Father's Day Forecast & Midwest Patio Weather
Tracking beautiful Father's Day weather on the West Coast, plus a crisp, dry window for the Upper Midwest before the pattern shifts later this week.

A Flawless Father's Day for the Coasts, and a Crisp Midwest Window
Happy Father's Day, y'all. While we are closely tracking some serious flash flooding down south and severe storms in the Plains, the atmosphere is also delivering some absolutely top tier outdoor weather for a huge chunk of the country today. If you are firing up the grill or taking dad to a ballgame, several regions are hitting the weather jackpot.
Today is shaping up to be a Beautiful category day across the West Coast, Upper Midwest, and pockets of New England. We are talking about high temperatures averaging a perfect 75 degrees with dewpoints down in the upper 40s. That is the kind of air that feels refreshing the second you step outside.
If you are heading out to the Hudson River Music Festival in New York or catching the Angels play the Athletics in Sacramento this afternoon, you are sitting in the best zones. Sacramento is currently our number four city today with a Beautiful rating. Just keep the sunglasses handy and apply some sunscreen, as the UV index is running high around 7.8 in these clear sky areas.

The Midwest Workweek Window
As we head into Monday and Tuesday, high pressure builds over the Great Lakes and Northern Rockies. This setup is going to suppress storm development and shift the absolute best weather directly into the Upper Midwest and Ohio Valley.
Monday is looking stellar for Minnesota and Iowa. Minneapolis and Des Moines take the top two spots on our nice weather list tomorrow, featuring highs in the mid 70s and incredibly comfortable dewpoints.
By Tuesday, that comfort zone slides slightly east. Indianapolis, Toledo, and Fort Wayne sweep the top three spots with Beautiful ratings, boasting highs in the low 70s and zero humidity concerns. If you have been wanting to eat dinner out on the patio or hit the local trails, Tuesday evening in the Midwest is your target.

The Late Week Shift
You will want to take advantage of these early week conditions if you live east of the Rockies. Looking at the broader pattern from the Weather Prediction Center, a mid-level trough and frontal system will start dragging clouds and rain chances across the eastern half of the country by Wednesday and Thursday.
As that system degrades the sensible weather in the East, the really nice conditions will retreat westward. By the time we reach next weekend, the best outdoor weather will be confined almost entirely to the Intermountain West and the Pacific Coast.
You can track exactly when the pattern shifts in your neighborhood over on the Nice Weather outlook page. Have a great Sunday, enjoy the crisp air if you have it, and stay weather aware if you are near those stormy zones.
