Every underlying sub-score, temperature, dewpoint, precipitation, wind, sky, heat stress, is strong enough on its own to clear Perfect's threshold. Once again, it's the AQI reading, around 43 to 48 in these cities, that's the single thing keeping the day at Beautiful instead of the top tier.
The timing lines up nicely with the Minnesota State Fair opening its gates in Falcon Heights, right in the heart of this zone. If you're headed to the fairgrounds Thursday, you're walking into some of the best air quality-aside outdoor comfort this outlook has shown all month. Grand Rapids, Michigan sits at the edge of the same system but is noticeably muggier, a reminder that even a great zone has a soft corner.
